5 Reasons to Switch to a Remote Position in 2022

Whether you're a stay at home mom looking to become a work from home mom or a busy working mom who works in an in-person position, now is a great time to move to a remote position. The past two years have truly shown that remote employees are just as productive (and happier) than people who physically show up to work in an office.

Working from home is a wonderful opportunity for moms and dads, especially those who have been stay at home moms or stay at home dads and are just jumping back into the workforce.

Take a look at these 5 reasons to switch to a remote position in 2022:

1. Flexible Schedule

One of the best reasons to switch from a typical 9-5 in person job to a remote job right now is the opportunity for a more flexible schedule. Many work from home jobs do offer the flexibility of getting the work done at any time during the day which is perfect for busy parents. Keep in mind, whether you're looking for a part time work from home job or a full time work from home job, it's important to thoroughly read through the remote job requirements prior to applying because some remote jobs still do require remote employees to work within normal working hours.

2. Make More Money

By not having to drive or take public transportation to work, you're already saving money on gas and putting way less miles on your car. With so many businesses moving to a completely remote work environment in the past two years, the salaries of these positions that were in house have increased. Businesses are saving a ton of money by not having to lease out an office space for workers and everything else that comes along with having a physical office environment. Businesses are more likely to bump their wages as their cost to run the business has dropped.

If you're a caretaker and the remote position you're applying to offers a flexible schedule this means that you can avoid or bump down childcare! As a mom of two boys, I know how quickly that time can add up each week.

3. Save Time Commuting

From the moment you roll out of bed in the morning until you finally get to lay back down at night, your day is jam packed with life. You need to work, the kids need to be entertained and fed, and let's not even talk about housework! Think of how much time you ultimately save if you switch to a new career that is remote. Whether you're seek a part time work from home job or a full time work from home job, the time you save off the road is irreplaceable. After all, time is money!

4. Spend More Time With Family and Friends

Less time away from home ultimately means more time with your loved ones. Instead of being stuck in traffic at rush hour you can make it to your kids baseball game. Instead of having to go into the office to finish up an assignment or to attend a meeting, you can clock in and out of work from the comfort of your home. If you find a remote job that fits your life and work more efficiently at home, this is a no brainer!
